Christmas 2008

Farmboy and his brood

YIKES! Kume gets a real kick out of these guns. Hey, honey, remember you have Barbies over there, and an American Girl doll, and a purse, lip gloss....Seriously, I get a kick out of it.

We do have to admit we have the kids trained well. They KNOW we are night owls, and have no morning bird qualities whatsoever, so they do a decent job of waiting to start the festivities. Starting the late-morning fun....

Yeah, I know. I said we would NEVER get a game system in our house. But everyone says that these truly are family friendly, and not too addicting. We'll see. The kids are THRILLED I got talked into this one by sweet Farmboy.

Wii Boxing... ages 5 and up:

Okay, if you don't know what these Perler beads are, you must get some for your kids. Our kids have spent hours and hours and hours making these, all the kids. From age 12 to 5, they enjoy them. Our downstairs tree was almost completely decorated with their creations. Jambo got about 11,000 more, since we have gone through the first 15,000 to 20,000. Just DON'T spill them.

HAPPY NEW YEAR May we all be open and available to step out of "safe" to whatever God is preparing us for this year. Like describing Aslan of Narnia, God is not safe, but He is good.

What a beautiful family you have!!

My husband and I are in the process of adopting from our states foster care system and I love to read about other people's adoption experiences. It helps me to see how God reaches His hand down and guides each one.

Thank you for sharing.

I'm impressed... my kids are teenagers, and we had to beg to get them to promise to stay in bed until 8:00. It was our first Christmas in 19 years where gifts were opened during daylight.

Wishing your beautiful family a blessed 2009.

Ok - to Wii or not to Wii - that is my question. I've been anti game system around here too. My son had a PS2 and it wasn't long before it was put up in the closet. I've heard so much about the Wii and lots of our church friends got them for Christmas, but we still haven't taken the plunge. You will have to keep me posted on how you like it and how truly family friendly (and non-addicting) it is! I'll be watching for updates.

Hope your process is going well! We have been submitted for a court date - so we wait.

Blessings,
Mary

The Wii IS fun, and the most family friendly. Good choice! My girls would LOVE those beads but Gabe would love to throw and spill them. I should email you...we need to talk process. IT's killing me, the long hurry and wait for ...?....nothing? I know, not safe, not predictable, it's an adventure. Sigh.....

LOVE the Christmas pics, next year one more eh??? Happy New Year! Lov eM

LOVE Perler beads...I didn't know they still made them! My daughter is still a little young for them but I'm very happy to hear they are still around. (And it looks like the design plates are still the same!)
